Really, “Frankendoodle” is one of SpongeBob’s true classic episodes.ĭespite being a great episode overall, “Frankendoodle” does have a few moments which could be a little funnier, mostly towards the beginning and a few brief moments later on. Really, the idea of an evil doodle is a pretty creative idea, and this episode does a lot with it, and the fun gags they pull off with the magic pencil are also pretty entertaining. “Frankendoodle” also has some good humor, from DoodleBob’s weird gibberish language (”MEE HOY MINOY!”), to some of the jokes used with the magic pencil, to many of Patrick’s silly lines when DoodleBob is attacking. “Frankendoodle”’s main strength is its interesting concept. Remember kids, when drawing out at sea, always remember a pencil sharpener. He prepares to draw, but the lead breaks. SpongeBob and Patrick decide they have to send the pencil back where it came from, and they send it back to the surface, where the artist at sea gets it back. SpongeBob then places DoodleBob in a notebook, and pins the drawing of DoodleBob to the wall. He starts approaching SpongeBob, who accidentally knocks down a few papers, only for SpongeBob to notice that DoodleBob gets trapped in paper. He then, accidentally throws the pencil out the window, while DoodleBob uses his mouth as a pencil sharpener to re-sharpen his half of the pencil. Luckily, SpongeBob has the bit with the lead, and redraws himself. While DoodleBob is distracted, SpongeBob tries to take the pencil back, but ends up breaking it in two. DoodleBob chasing SpongeBob around the house, erasing some parts as he moves along.ĭoodleBob erases a little bit of SpongeBob, and laughs at how goofy he looks. He hopes there’s no hard feelings, but DoodleBob draws angry eyebrows, and decides he’s going to erase SpongeBob. SpongeBob sees the pencil moving, and wonders what’s happening, only to see DoodleBob back. DoodleBob’s remaining arm sneaks inside, walks upstairs, and picks up the pencil. He tucks the magic pencil into his bed, and goes to sleep. That night, SpongeBob is glad everything is back to normal, aside from a few “enhancements” made with the magic pencil. However, one of DoodleBob’s arms was left behind. He erases DoodleBob, and SpongeBob and Patrick proceed to walk back home. SpongeBob, however, grabs the pencil, and pins DoodleBob against the wall. He throws SpongeBob away, and denies Patrick’s present for the surprise party. They hide behind a rock, and try to surprise DoodleBob, only for DoodleBob to then burst out the wall. He then draws a giant wrench which he drops on Patrick, and when they start crawling out, he hits them with a bowling ball. They hide in a bush and walk up to him, only to end up in a hole he drew. They try to find DoodleBob, and find the poorly-drawn pineapple he lives in. He then steals the pencil from SpongeBob and Patrick, and runs away with it. DoodleBob knocks on the door, and when Squidward opens it, DoodleBob beats Squidward up. SpongeBob then gets the ultimate prank idea: to draw himself to go to Squidward’s door, and when Squidward opens it, it won’t be him! SpongeBob creates DoodleBob. Squidward walks outside, and tries to pick up the dollar, but as it gets pulled away, his monocle and “hair” fall off, the hair of which, flies away. He draws a dollar bill on Squidward’s green door mat, and draws a string attached to it. Patrick tries to draw Squidward, but they notice how creepy it looks, and erase it.Īfter thinking about Squidward, SpongeBob gets an idea. We cut to Squidward, who is looking at himself in the mirror, only wishing he had hair, when the mustache finally flies on top of his head. SpongeBob realizes the grand potential of this pencil, and Patrick asks for a mustache. SpongeBob grabs the giant pencil, and draws a jellyfish, until it comes to life, literally. SpongeBob and Patrick, who are playing Rock, Paper, Scissors, are enjoying their day until a giant pencil comes down and pops the bubbles they were using. However, he accidentally tosses his pencil into the sea, much to his dismay. This episode begins with live-action footage of the “artist at sea”, who is preparing a new drawing.
